UptimeRobot alternative: Rookflare vs UptimeRobot

UptimeRobot tells you when a URL stops responding, with checks down to 15 seconds and a free plan. Rookflare checks uptime too, and also looks at the page itself: screenshots on desktop and mobile, JavaScript errors, broken images and search settings.

Demo, simulated outage. The Uptime tab of the fictional Northwind Shop. The checkout page https://northwind-shop.example/checkout/ stops answering: its card turns red, the summary says one URL is down and a down alert goes to Slack. Three minutes later the page answers again, a back-up alert follows and the outage is listed under Downtime as 3 min, Timeout.

Short answer

Rookflare or UptimeRobot?

If you only need to know whether a site responds, UptimeRobot is cheaper and checks more often. Pick Rookflare when a site can be up and still broken: a missing button, a failed image or a layout that changed after a release.

Rookflare fits if

  • You want to know when a page that still loads looks wrong or throws JavaScript errors.
  • You want desktop and mobile screenshots compared with a version your team approved.
  • You manage client sites and want monthly white-label reports with uptime and scan results.

When UptimeRobot is the better choice

No tool fits every team. These are the cases where we would point you elsewhere.

  • You need very frequent checks

UptimeRobot checks every 60 seconds on Solo and down to 15 seconds on Scale. Rookflare checks at most every minute, on Agency.

  • You monitor many endpoints for little money

UptimeRobot’s free plan covers 50 monitors, and it also offers ping, port, keyword and heartbeat monitors. Rookflare watches websites, not servers or cron jobs.

  • You want status pages

UptimeRobot includes status pages, white-label from the Team plan. Rookflare has no status pages.

FAQ

Rookflare and UptimeRobot: questions

Something missing here? Send us a message

What is the main difference between Rookflare and UptimeRobot?

UptimeRobot checks whether a URL, port or server responds. Rookflare also checks uptime, and looks inside the page: it compares desktop and mobile screenshots with an approved version and flags server errors, JavaScript errors, broken images and search settings.

Can I keep UptimeRobot and add Rookflare?

Yes. You can keep UptimeRobot for servers and APIs and use Rookflare for what visitors see. Rookflare’s Starter plan has no uptime checks, so it does not repeat what UptimeRobot already does.

How often does Rookflare check uptime?

Every minute on Agency and every 5 minutes on Growth, from one location in the EU. Starter has no uptime checks.

Can I try Rookflare before I switch from UptimeRobot?

Yes. The 14-day free trial has Growth features for 1 website and 25 pages, so you can run it next to UptimeRobot and compare the alerts. It's one free trial per person.
