## Questions to ask any monitoring tool

### Does it look at the page or only the server?

An uptime check sees a 200 response. A screenshot shows the missing button or the broken layout.

### Who decides what is a real change?

Look for a review step, so a planned redesign does not keep alerting and a real bug does not slip into the reference.

### Does it check mobile?

Many layout bugs only show at phone width. Check that both desktop and mobile are captured.

### Where do the alerts go?

Email is not enough for a site that is down at night. Check for Slack, SMS or phone calls, and how many are included.

### Can you show the client?

Agencies need reports with their own logo, or status pages, depending on what clients ask for.

### What does it cost at your size?

Some tools price per check, some per site, some per seat. Count your websites, pages and people first.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which website monitoring tool is best for agencies?

It depends on what your clients worry about. For uptime and status pages, Oh Dear, UptimeRobot or Better Stack are strong. For pages that look wrong after a release, you want screenshot comparison, which Rookflare, Visualping, ChangeTower and Diffy offer in different ways.

### Where do the facts on these pages come from?

From each company’s own pricing and feature pages, on the date shown on every comparison. Rookflare’s facts come from its plan limits, the same data the pricing page uses.

### Can I use Rookflare with another monitoring tool?

Yes. You can keep an uptime tool for servers and APIs and use Rookflare for what visitors see on the page.

## Sources and method

We read each company’s own pricing and feature pages and wrote down only what they state. Where a page does not mention a feature, the table says “Not stated”, which does not mean the product lacks it. Prices and features change, so check the linked pages before you decide.
